Dr. med. Claudia Wendt
Assistant physician for psychiatry and psychotherapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Languages: German, English
Born in 1966, she comes from Saxony-Anhalt in Germany. She studied medicine at the Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittenberg and at the Free University of Berlin. In 1995, she began working as a physician specializing in psychiatry and psychotherapy. Subsequently, she worked as a research associate at the Charité Berlin, Institute for Sexual Science, where she completed training in couples therapy and treated people with sexual dysfunctions. This was followed by six years as a Medical Advisor and Associate Medical Director at the Clinical Research Organization Parexel International GmbH, Berlin. Due to family circumstances, she moved to Switzerland in 2004 and then decided to continue her work in psychiatry and psychotherapy. She worked for three and a half years as a resident physician at the University Psychiatric Clinics (UPK) Basel and subsequently for twelve years in outpatient care at the Schützen Clinic in Rheinfelden. Dr. Wendt completed a three-year training program at the Training Center for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy (AZPP) in Basel and worked for four years in individual analytical supervision. She has worked with behavioral, systemic, and trauma-specific treatment methods (Brain Spotting, IRRT, NET), as well as alternative approaches (Nathal, an imaginative method; Matrix Power Quantum Healing; Trivolution). Topics such as consciousness and personality development are very important to her, because here we touch upon the big questions of meaning in life. Access to the unconscious often allows for a deeper understanding of oneself and can be achieved particularly well through dream interpretation, but also through other projective techniques such as expressive painting. She also enjoys working with hypnotherapeutic elements and guided meditations. In addition to couples counseling, Dr. Wendt also offers group programs, for example, for progressive muscle relaxation (PMR), autogenic training, and emotional competence training. Dr. Wendt is currently training to become a physician specializing in functional medicine under Dr. Christian Burghardt in Munich (Mitocare).
